Wowza! I can’t believe this is actually happening. This has been a dream of mine for awhile now. I remember when growing up all I wanted to do was travel. I’m a rather curious person, so knowing that there was more than what was beneath my feet made me want to go see it all. Then God transformed my desire to just experience the world, to instead make Him known across the nations to His people. A Kingdom dream you could say. Now here we are, making it my career!! That’s pretty cool.

People walk differently when they know they’re loved by God. When they see that He transcends their own understanding. People’s eyes light up a little more when they experience His grace. I want to walk alongside people as they see God manifest into their everyday. God is worth knowing and you are worth being known by Him. I want to see a land of free people running to the house of God. This is why I do what I do and live the way I live. I believe we are of the some on the front lines leading people there.

So, the details! I’ll be a long term missionary with Adventures in Missions at our base in Guatemala. It’s the same base that I spent time at during the fall of 2018 leading Gap T! Guatemala is a country full of beauty and it’s people are filled with even more. They’re eager and just waiting for a seed to be planted. Seeds of freedom planted through truth.

First, I’ll head down there in August for a three month internship where I’ll be spending time in all the areas of our ministry. This includes church activation, short term missions, and field mentorship where I’ll be discipling Gap Year squads that come through. This is so I’ll get a clear picture of what all we do, and I’ll get to know our whole staff team. Once the internship is over, the team and I will talk about what position seems most fitting and then I’ll go on full time signing a three year contract!

In the meantime I’ll continue living in Gainesville, Georgia, working at starbucks, rock climbing and things like that.

For Guatemala to happen, I need you! In the past, this has been geared more towards one-time donations but this time around we’re hoping for more monthly donations. My first goal I need to tackle is the remaining cost I have from CGA. That is $2,209. After we reach that, I will need to raise a total of $5,000 for the internship. I want you to partner with me in this dream God has given me.

In monthly support I am asking for

  • 10 committed to $10 a month

  • 4 committed to $50 a month

  • 7 committed to $100 a month

The goal I’ve set is to be fully funded by August 1st. Although I’m looking for monthly support, one-time donations are still great! Once the internship is completed, I will transition into fundraising my salary, but we’ll talk more about that when the time comes.

Thanks for taking the time to read this blog today! I’ll continue to keep things updated as we move along. If you’d like to know more don’t be afraid to give me a call. Also! I’ll be visiting home in Lincoln, April 30th-May 6th so if any of you from home would like to meet up in person, I’d love to do that!!

One response to “I’m moving to Guatemala!”

  1. Dude, I’m so stoked for you to be stepping into your CAREER as a missionary. Hearing your heart the other night at worship room was super beautiful. People who love powerfully are used powerfully. I’m stoked to keep up with how God moves in you and through you while you’re here!
