God is Good

Heeeeey y’all. Sorry it’s been so incredibly long since the last time I put out a blog. I’ve been slacking. Here’s a little bit of what the Lord has been doing in my life.

So for the past 2 weeks I’ve been traveling through the states. For the first week I was it Colorado at Sky Ranch Horn Creek Christian Camp which is by Westcliffe, Colorado. I went up there in the youth group I’m involved in. It’s the summer trip our high school group does and it was AMAZING just like every other year. We go up on the side of a mountain surrounded by God’s beautiful creation, we’re disconnected from life back home, we do whatever is needed to be done around the camp, and we are able to grow closer to one another and grow closer to Christ. This years theme was “Who do You say that I am.” God says that we are chosen and adopted into His family, we are being recklessly pursued by Him always, and no matter what He does not condemn us. That’s what hit me hardest, that He doesn’t condemn me. God knows me better than anyone, He knows the worst and the best parts of me, He knows that I have messed up and that I will continue to mess up, He knows that time and time again I will choose my sinful ways over His ways, but yet He still loves me and He still claims me as His daughter.

Just this past week I was able to spend a week with some other people on my World Race squad and it was AMAZING. I don’t even know where to begin. A few months ago we were joking around about how cool it would be if some of us road tripped up to Chicago to meet some more racers that live around there. Little did we know we were actually going to do this. A couple Texans drove up here to pick up us Nebraskans and then we made our way up to Chicago where quite a few people of our squad live around. We were all so hype for this trip. Finally being able to actually meet some of the people we’ve been texting, snapchatting, and skyping with for months. When we were up there we explored downtown Chicago, went to the beach at Michigan Lake on the Michigan side, and drove out to Elkhart, Indiana to visit a few more people on our squad that live out there. When we explored downtown Chicago we went out for Indian food so we could try a little bit of what we’ll be eating everyday for the first 3 months of our race. It actually tasted kind of good, but considering not a single Indian person worked at this Indian restaurant I’m assuming this wasn’t the legit stuff so we’ll see how things work out in India. As we were we walking around we prayed with random people on the streets of Chicago which was a cool little glimpse of what things are going to be like to do ministry with these people on the race. The next day we drove all the way to Michigan to get to the best beaches and oh my word the sand was incredible. Lake Michigan is the closest thing I’ve ever seen to an ocean so it was pretty dope. It was about 70 degrees outside and we decided to go swimming in a lake that was probably about 50-60 degrees. It was freezing but it was so worth it. The next day we took a good drive out to Elkhart, Indiana where we got to hangout with a couple more people from the squad. They both work at a camp out there so they got to show us little bit of what they do. Then we ventured over to Goshen and did some adventuring of our own. We filmed some peoples World Race intro videos for squad wars and hung out with each other all night. I would have to say this night was probably my favorite night. We had 10 people from the squad all together learning more about each other and also growing closer to each other. There was a great community.

Going to Chicago and getting to do all of this definitely confirmed for me that The World Race is what God is calling me to do and I don’t think I could be any more excited than I am. I am also confident that the 9 other people doing this crazy adventure with me are doing this to serve the Lord and I cannot wait to do life with these people for 9 months. God is good y’all, real good.

How to help..

Prayer Request: Please pray that as I get closer and closer to when I leave in October that myself and the rest of my squad comes up with the financials needed to embark on the journey God is calling us too and that we would be preparing ourselves well as we leave in less than 4 months.

Fundraising: Currently I am a little over 60% funded and by September I need to be about 73% funded. So I need to raise about $1,500 between now and then. How you can help with this? If 15 of you reading this donate $100 or if 30 of you reading this donate $50 I would be at my goal of $10,000. My goal is to have the $10,000 by July 31st. So that gives me about 1 month and 3 weeks to raise this. I encourage you to give whatever the Lord is calling you to give and to continue praying for me. You can donate by clicking that little “donate” button up there. Thank you so much!
